Key Lime Tree
Citrus aurantifoliaDescription
You will love growing your own dwarf Key Lime Tree. Make pies, limeade, and share with friends and family. These limes pack a delicious sweet and tart in a little package.
Key Lime trees are a great addition to your container citrus garden and can even be grown indoors by a sunny window. This lovely citrus tree produces scented blooms that fill your home with a light, sweet scent. The pretty white flowers are followed by petite key limes. This fruit tree grows up to 12 feet tall and 8 feet wide in the ground but stays smaller in containers. It can be pruned and easily kept extremely compact and still produce plenty of key limes.
Plant near a very sunny window, glass door, or provide a plant light to grow your own fruit! Our dwarf Key Lime trees are grafted, not grown from seed, so you can have fruit in the very first year and a hardy tree! This tree is pest and disease resistant so it is easy to grow organic limes for your family. Enjoy your organic lime juice and zest in recipes from fish to pie.
Provide your Key Lime tree with full sun and well-drained soil. Citrus trees prefer humid environments, but like their roots to dry out between waterings. Whether in a container or the ground, water when the soil has dried out down to about 2 inches and be sure your plant is not sitting in water.
Fertilize with our balanced, slow-release fertilizer when planting and in early spring and late summer. Prune anytime for shape and size maintenance. Key Lime Trees grow in zones 8b to 11. Otherwise, it must be grown in containers. It will not tolerate freezing temperatures.
Grow your own, delicious Key Limes! Order yours today. These sell out fast!

How To Care
Grow your Key Lime tree in full sun and well-drained soil. When planting in the groundwater deeply 2 times per week until your dwarf citrus tree is established. After the first few months, water when the soil begins to dry. Limes do not like wet roots so be sure the soil has dried down to about 2 inches whether in the ground or in containers. Citrus plants like humid environments so misting the leaves daily in dry environments is ideal.
Fertilize with our balanced slow-release fertilizer when planting and in early spring and late summer. Containerized plants perform better when fertilized 3 to 4 times per year. Fertilize your potted citrus with our balanced slow-release fertilizer when planting, the end of winter, early summer, and again in fall.
Prune anytime for shape and size maintenance.
The Key Lime tree can grow outdoors in zones 9 to 11. Otherwise, it must be grown in containers as a patio plant or indoors. It will not tolerate freezing temperatures. Move your lime tree inside when temperatures drop below 40 degrees.
