Description

You will be hard pressed to find a cooler, more unique fruit than the Pink Lemonade Blueberry.  This delicious, sweet blueberry or should we say PINKberry is a fun and easy plant to grow.

The Pink Lemonade puts on a lovely show throughout the year.  Colorful bright green leaves emerge in spring, followed by whitish-pink flowers.  The hot pink fruit arrives in the summer.  But it doesn't end there!  The fall foliage is a vibrant red that really brightens the landscape.  Even in winter the curving reddish-tan branches add unique interest to your landscape.

This blueberry bush grows to a very manageable 4-5 feet height and width.  Plant in full to part sun and well-drained, acidic soil for best results.  Prune during winter months in you want to control size and shape or keep as a hedge.  A slow release fertilizer can be applied in spring.  If you grow in a container, fertilize in spring and summer.

Stand out in the crowd and show off your very own Pink Lemonade Blueberries!  Order yours today!

How To Care

When planting your Pink Lemonade Blueberry be sure to choose the right location and conditions for your new plant to thrive.  Spring and Fall are ideal times to plant.  However, if you avoid extreme temperatures you can plant your Blueberry almost any time of the year.

This blueberry thrives in full to part sun and well-drained, moist, acidic soil.  If you have alkaline soil, be sure to amend your soil.  To acidify your soil amend with compost, elemental sulfur, or use fertilizers specific for acid loving plants.  Mulching with pine straw or pine bark will help over time as they begin to break down, but are not an immediate solution.  To improve drainage in something like a heavy clay soil, add compost and be sure to loosen up the soil well before planting. Water deeply when planting and 2-3 times weekly for 3 months while your Blueberry plant is establishing.  During the growing and fruiting seasons, a blueberry will do best if the soil is kept moist.  Adding a layer of 2 to 3 inches of mulch is highly recommended for Blueberry bushes.  Mulching helps to maintain soil moisture and gives added protection during extreme temperatures.  Fertilize in spring with a balanced, slow release fertilizer. Blueberries grown in containers will need fertilized 2 to 3 times as often because nutrients leech out of the pot when you water.  Prune your Blueberries in late winter to remove any dead, dying, or crowded branches and to maintain size.  The Pink Lemonade Blueberry is self pollinating so you only need 1 plant to get berries.  However your harvest will increase per plant if you have multiple Pink Lemonade plants or other Rabbiteye varieties.

The best way to prevent disease and pests is by providing the appropriate care for your plants.  Proper location choice, watering, and fertilization are the keys to your success. The biggest pests of blueberries is birds.  You can put up bird netting to protect your crop.  If positioned properly, this is an extremely effective deterrent.  The Pink Lemonade is very pest and disease resistant.

Landscape Ideas

This beautiful dwarf blueberry is perfect for container gardening or utilizing in the landscape.  Use as a border along a pathway or a small hedge.  Blueberries look great in plant beds and ornamental gardens.  Choose other acid loving plants like azaleas, camellias, and evergreens to complement your Pink Lemonade Blueberry. Check varieties for similar sun requirements.

Great

Plant was alive and in good condition. Í was very pleased with the way it had been carefully packed. It even came earlier than expected. New leaves already growing everywhere. Hope to see those blueberries soon. Thank you.

Not completely happy with packaging

I would have given 5 stars but they put 2 of my plants in 1 box causing the soil to spill out of pots making a very big mess when I opened the box. Plants are starting to look better. I just wish that when you spend $50.00 per plant more care would be taken to get the product to the purchaser in better shape.

Pink Lemonade Blueberry bush review

Fed Ex took 3 days longer than estimated time. But the plant was well packaged and survived the Transit. I was a little disappointed in the size of the plant and was hoping for a fuller bush then what I received. The plant had 2 branches with 1/2 covered with leaves. So looks pretty sparse. I followed directions to plant it and hope it will grow to a decent size quickly.
