Description

Enjoy your colorful Double Knock Out Rose Blooms May through late fall or first frost.

  • Ideal for hedges, natural areas, and individual planting. Even use for a background border.
  • Self pruning. Extremely low maintenance
  • Disease resistance
  • Thrives even in full sun

The compact, lush Double Knock Out Rose bloom begs to be admired.  This variety is resistant to black spot and other common rose diseases.

Interesting in fresh cut roses? Take a pair of pruners and bring in some nice fresh roses for your get together. They will keep blooming until the first frost.

New blooms emerge cherry red in color. As blooms mature they begin to fade into a pretty pink.

Our 3 gallon roses have already been pruned for strength and structure.

How To Care

Watering:
Water in well when planting. Keep soil moist for the first month. Once established, allow soil to dry before watering. Pruning

Wait for spring! The growth of new shoots from the canes of your rose bush is a sign that it’s time to prune. This often coincides with when forsythia start to bloom. Pruning can help maintain vigor and strength as well as encourage better blooming. We recommend pruning back, leaving about 1 foot for Knockout Roses.

Remember the rule of three! Your Knock Out® Rose bush will triple in size in a season, so cutting it back to approximately 1’ will make it finish at approximately 3’.

Planting:
Choose a location that gets 6-8 hours of sun each day. Dig a hole that is about twice as wide and as deep as the container. Place plant in the hole so that the base of the plant is level with the soil. Fill in the hole with loose soil. Water around the base of the plant. For the next few weeks, check the rose and water as needed.

Fertilize after each new flush of blooms (however, you do not need to fertilize the first year). Mulch will help minimize weeds, keep the soil moist, and add essential nutrients. Water slowly at the base of the plant. The frequency of watering depends on your soil and climate as well as the age of the plant. Prune in early spring to promote healthy blooms. Never prune in fall or winter.

Received too early

The roses came in excellent condition however, they were sent too early for us in the lakes region of New Hampshire. The ground was still covered in snow and frozen. I will specify better in the future. Thanks, jana

Big expectations for my new Doulble Knock Out Roses

I was amazed at how well the potted roses were packaged. All six arrived in perfect shape except for one that was knocked halfway out of the pot. They all look fine in the ground and some have buds already!

A Great Experience

I ordered eight Double Knock Out roses from Planting Tree for my garden in Seattle, WA. The roses where sent cross-country and were received by FedEx within a week. They were in excellent condition, much better condition than the roses available at the local garden shops in late Fall. A great product, a good price, and fast transit. A great experience all around!

3 Double Knock Out Roses

The purchase and receiving experience was really good. The box came with the roses very well protected and directions on how to care for the plants immediately. The plants are in the ground and I look forward to seeing how they do in the metropolis of Newark, DE
