Each is adorned with a lacy center to create an anemone-like bloom. Bold yet delicate, Blue Chiffon is a star in the garden from late summer to fall. The distinctive flower color complements many popular late summer perennials.

Blue Chiffon Rose of Sharon FAQ

How To Plant A Blue Chiffon Rose Of Sharon

Plant this shrub in spring and pick a spot that has well drained, acidic soil and gets full sun to part shade explosure in grow zones 5-9. Dig a hole the size of the rootball and plant so the stems are at the surface of the soil. Water well when planting to ensure proper moisture to the roots and prune or deadhead to encourage new growth once established.

When Does This Shrub Bloom?

Expect a show from mid-summer to fall on these beautiful bloomers which will attract butterflies and hummingbirds to your garden or mixed bed.

How Should I Prune A Blue Chiffon?

These shrubs dont really need to be pruned as the flowers are spent after a day of blooming. Deadheading and pruning is done in early spring by some to encourage new growth and maintain the shape of the bush.

Blue Chiffon Rose of Sharon Care
Grows in any soil unless it is either really wet or dry. Prune in early spring if desired. Can be heavily pruned, but this is not usually necessary. Prefers medium moisture. Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer formulated for trees and shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application.
Landscape ideas
Late season color for hedges, perennial or shrub borders, specimen and containers. This is a nice addition to the mixed border, and can also be used as a specimen plant for late summer interest. Excellent for hedging. Mixes well with Pink Rose of Sharon.
