Incrediball Blush Hydrangea

Hydrangea arborescens 'Abetwo'
Save $10.00

The Incrediball Hydrangea is NO FLOP! Literally! This hydrangea from Proven Winners was bred specifically to have thick, tough stems that could support even the most enormous hydrangea flowers! Even after a heavy rain your gorgeous flowers won't be face down in the dirt like with other varieties.

Similar to the Annabelle, the hardy Incrediball has those same stunning white blooms that can reach 12” in diameter that we all just can't wait for every year! Flowers bigger than your head! And you would think because they are so huge you would only get a few flowers, but these gems produce loads of huge flowers ALL summer long!

This stunning, show-off hydrangea is cold-hardy and blooms on new growth so you don't have to worry about a harsh winter robbing you of the whole reason you picked the Incrediball Hydrangea in the first place!

Grow in full to part sun. The variety holds up to sun much better than the Annabelle, but a touch of shade may be ideal in zones 8 and 9. The Incrediball Hydrangea is adaptable to most soils as long as there is no standing water. Keep the soil moist especially in summer for best results. After the first year this hydrangea is drought tolerant.

How To Care

When planting your Incrediball Hydrangea be sure you have the right location and conditions for your new plants to thrive. Spring and Fall are ideal times to plant Hydrangeas. Avoid planting hydrangeas in summer when temperatures are mid80s or higher.

The Incrediball Hydrangea thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers moist, well-drained, fertile soil, but is adaptable to most soils. In hot climates, hydrangeas will do best with some shade. This variety's color is not affected by soil pH. Keep the soil moist, but not saturated, especially in summer and in the first year after planting. Throughout its life Hydrangeas will do best with a deep watering once weekly during hot temperatures. Mulching at about 3 inches deep is highly recommended for hydrangeas. Mulching will cut back on watering needs and protect your plant in extreme temperatures. Choose a slow release fertilizer for flowering plants. Fertilize once in spring after the last chance of frost and again in early summer for best results. You don’t need to prune hydrangeas, but pruning lightly after they are done blooming can help encourage a bushier growth and renew an older plant. This hydrangea blooms on new wood so you can prune more heavily in the dormant season.

The best way to prevent disease and pests is by providing the appropriate care for your plants. Proper location choice, watering, and fertilization are the keys to your success. You can treat mites, scale, whiteflies, and aphids naturally with neem oil or insecticidal soap. For severe infections you can use pesticides like carbaryl, also known as Sevin. Fungal infection can be prevented by making sure the planting site has good drainage and by avoiding overhead watering. Fungal infections can be treated with a fungicide. Generally, treating fungus after infection isn't effective so if you have problems with other plants or in a prior year, treat preventatively in early spring.

Landscape Ideas

With a mature height and spread of 4-5 feet you can certainly find space in your yard. You can even grow this hydrangea in a container. Just be sure to fertilize about 4 times per year with a slow release fertilizer (like the one we carry here) instead of two to ensure the best and most blooms! A single, focal Incrediball is a show stopper, but try a hedge or a group of 3 or 5 for an out of this world display that will stop traffic! The clean, classy look of the Incrediball goes anywhere! Cut for fresh or dry flower arrangements. It's a look you will love to bring inside your home! And the cut flowers can last up to 1 month!

Try a mixed bed with Strawberry Sundae Hydrangeas, a Japanese Garden Juniper, an Emerald Green Arborvitae, and Gold Coast junipers.  For a little more color substitute a Cityline Rio Hydrangea.  Add a bench because you will not want to leave your beautiful little paradise!

Amazing Incrediball

Received the plant last week and it was very well packaged and seemed hearty from the get go. Planted it and already see a bud forming on the Incrediball hydrangea. Love being able to get 3 gallon plants in such good shape! Will definitely buy again from PlantingTree!!

Quality Plant

All my plants came in a timely fashion (some even came early) and they were incredibly healthy. So far, the plants are thriving.

Beautiful healthy plants

I bought three Incrediball hydrangeas and I was super nervous that I planted them too early in our cold Chicago April. But two weeks later they are thriving and full with tiny buds on them. I can't wait to watch them grow. We couldn't be happier, I highly recommend The Planting Tree!

Pleasantly Surprised

I bought the Incrediball to fill a space under a west facing window, it came well packaged and in good condition. The size of the plant was surprisingly large. It was put in the ground immediately following the planting instructions. It has been in the ground two weeks now and is already showing signs of blooms developing. I will definitely be buying from you in the future.
