Plant Sizes

One gallon plants are going to be the most inexpensive way to purchase shrubs. You can purchase tiny quarts from other garden centers but we only sell big bushes. The 1 gallon pot size is approximately 6 to 7 inches tall and wide. Expect the plant size to be between 6 inches to 2 feet tall and 6 to 18 inches wide. 1 gallon shrubs establish and grow quickly once planted in the ground and watered properly.

This nursery pot size is just right for those of you who want the best of both worlds. 2 gallon plants are more developed than 1 gallon plants, but cheaper than 3 gallon. 2 gallon pots are generally 8 to 10 inches wide and tall. 2 gallon plants are usually between 10 inches to 2.5 feet tall and 10 to 22 inches wide. This size is a great size to get started with, not too small and not too hard on the wallet.

The three gallon size plants are going to be much more developed. Our 3 gallon plants are fully developed and ready to plant. They have a root ball that is about 10 x 11 inches. These plants are generally 1 to 3 feet tall and 1 to 2 feet wide depending on the type of shrub. 3 Gallon plants look nicer in your landscape and offer instant impact.

Shrub Sizes

1 gallon shrubs are young bushes grown in 1 gallon nursery pots. These small bushes are cheaper than bigger shrubs. They are a great option for those of us on a budget. Young plants often establish faster than older plants. 1 gallon shrubs grow and acclimate quickly once planted in the ground.

3 gallon shrubs are bushes grown in 3 gallon nursery pots. These shrubs are more mature than 1 gallon shrubs often by a couple of years. These plants have a more developed root system and sturdier thicker trunks and branches. 3 gallon bushes can be twice the size of the same plant in a 1 gallon pot so you get more instant color and impact in the landscape than you do with smaller shrubs.
