How To Care

Be sure to select the right spot for your rose tree by following the following recommendations.

You can plant any time of the year, just take care to avoid the most extreme temperatures in winter and summer.

Full to part sun are ideal for roses. These plants love the sun. You will get the most prolific blooming in full sun.

Rose trees are adaptable to any well drained soil. Choose a good quality potting mix like our Special Planting Mix when planting in containers or amending a sandy, clay, or nutrient poor soil.

Water your rose tree in well when planting. Keep the soil moist for the first month.  Watering deeply 1 to 2 times per week versus a little bit everyday is ideal for helping you plant's roots establish quickly and grow well. Once established, allow the soil to dry before watering.

Use our 6 month slow release fertilizer when planting and in spring. Use again in mid summer when growing your tree rose in a container.

Prune lightly anytime to maintain shape. If a heavy pruning is require do this in late winter or early spring.

The Best

I ordered two of the 4'-5' yellow rose trees. They were perfectly pruned for Winter, and I planted them right away in oak barrels, and they got hit with some temps down in the low teens, and many more nights with mid-20's. So there is no doubt that they are cold hardy. I am looking out my window at both of them while I am typing this review. The are totally filled out with new branches and leaves all around. They also have too many to count yellow buds that look to be only a few sunny days away from being roses. Healthy and happy Knock Out rose trees. Thank you PlantingTree.

Pretty

Came back to get 2 more. We tried this tree out last year and loved it. It came with buds for flowers that bloomed after we planted it. It was a nice yellow color and I wanted more. We just got done lightly pruning it back for winter and thought we need more. Nicely done PlantingTree.

Planting Tree Speaks The Truth

This is first time I have purchased any plant, bush, or tree over the internet, plus this will be my first experience at trying to create a patio garden, or any garden for that matter. I was very hesitant to believe the description that indicates that the KnockOut Yellow Rose Tree could be sent to my home as a 4 to 5-foot tree. I even sent an e-mail to ask if this is true, and they responded with "yes." Today two rose trees came to our front porch. To my huge surprise and relief, Planting Tree spoke the truth. Both trees are solidly 4.5 feet high as measured from the top of the potting soil to the top of the now pruned rose trees. The trees had been pruned for winter, as it is the 3rd week of January , but I can see a whole bush full of sturdy limbs just waiting to do their stuff come Spring. Thank you Planting Tree. They are truthful in their advertisement, prompt in responding to my e-mail, and came to my porch two rose trees that appear to be in excellent condition for Springtime. Thank you Planting Tree people, for giving the real deal.

To early to tell, when I opened the box looked a little dry with so dead leaves. The shape looked OK was on the smaller side. I hoping this works out very easy to order plus free transporting a plus.
