When planting your Azalea be sure you have the right location and conditions for your new plants to thrive.

Planting time: Spring and Fall are ideal times to plant Azaleas. However, if you avoid freezing and extremely hot temperatures you can plant any time of the year

Sun: Full or part sun

Soil: Be sure your soil is well-drained and acidic. If you have alkaline soil, be sure to amend your soil. To acidify your soil amend with compost, elemental sulfur, or use fertilizers specific for acid loving plants. Mulching with pine straw or pine bark will help over time as they begin to break down, but are not an immediate solution. To improve drainage in something like a heavy clay soil, add compost and be sure to loosen up the soil well before planting.

Fertilizer: Choose a fertilizer for acid loving plants. Fertilize in late winter or early spring to give the upcoming blooms a boost.

Pruning: You don’t need to prune azaleas, but pruning after they are done blooming can help encourage a bushier growth and renew an older plant.

The Autumn Amethyst adds vibrant color to the southern landscape and beyond. Azaleas are excellent for borders and mass plantings. This evergreen shrub jazzes up gardens and mixed beds. At 3 to 4 feet tall and wide at maturity this stunning azalea can even be used in foundation plantings. Try this flowering shrub in a container to add a bold pop of color to your entryway, porch, patio, or deck. For borders or hedges plant about 3 feet apart on center. Otherwise, plant about 5 feet apart to give your plants space in-between.

Thanks

Received my "Autumn Amethyst " Encore azlalea. It was in great condition, not damaged at all! Due I'm sure to the excellent way it was packaged. Very healthy and a good size. There is a world of difference in the quality of your plants and the ones which I have ordered in the past from another company. Yes I would definitely recommend you to my friends! And I will be ordering again!

I was skeptical buying landscape plants online but have been pleasantly surprised. Very happy with the purchase and overall a fantastic value too!

They came packed really well but one had to be upside down. That one didn't look so great since day one. It almost looked limp. Maybe it was in shock from being upside down. They both seem to be doing well now. Not sure if they will have flowers this year. I would buy more and I am planning to.
