The Star Jasmine thrives in full sun, but can tolerate a small amount of shade. It can grow in any soil that isn't overly saturated. Water deeply twice weekly for 1 to 2 months after planting. Once established, water as needed. Jasmine will flower best when the soil is kept slightly moist, but will tolerate dry conditions. Fertilize with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring. If you grow your Star Jasmine in a container, fertilize at least one additional time per year in midsummer. If needed, prune after flowering. Deer and rabbit are unlikely to bother Jasmine. This evergreen shrub is also pest and disease resistant.
