Looking for something white to add to your landscape? Chek out the beautiful Autumn Moonlight Encore Azalea...

Encore azaleas are known for their ability to re-bloom in spring, summer, and fall. The Autumn Moonlight is a fast grower. Reaching heights of up to 5 feet tall and a spread of 4 feet makes this white Encore Azalea great for natural areas and areas that need a boost.

This Azalea is great for container gardening. Plant an Autumn Moonlight in a container, and place it on your back patio or deck. They are stunning when paired with seasonal flowers for a beautiful contrast in color. Add some pink or red petunias and some ivy draping out of the container. Get creative. Remember, these Azaleas will continue to re-bloom spring, summer and fall!

Unlike traditional azaleas, Encore Azaleas can tolerate full sun. An ideal planting environment will require about 4-6 hours of direct sunlight with some shade during the afternoon hours. Plant your new Autumn Moonlight Encore Azalea with our special planting mix and fertilizer to ensure a good start.

Sit back and enjoy your new re-blooming azaleas all season long!

How To Care

When planting your azalea be sure you have the right location and conditions for your new plants to thrive.

Planting time: Spring and fall are ideal times to plant azaleas. However, if you avoid freezing and extremely hot temperatures you can plant any time of the year

Sun: Full sun to part shade. Encore azaleas will perform best with at least 4-6 hours of sun. While your Encore azalea will still grow and even bloom in shady areas they are less likely to rebloom and the blooms won't be as prolific.

Soil: Azaleas prefer acidic soil that drains well. If you have alkaline soil, be sure to amend it. To acidify your soil amend with compost, elemental sulfur, or use fertilizers specific for acid loving plants. Mulching with pine straw or pine bark will help over time as they begin to break down, but are not an immediate solution. To improve drainage in something like a heavy clay soil, add compost and be sure to loosen up the soil well before planting.

Fertilizer: Choose a balanced slow release fertilizer. Fertilize in late winter or early spring before flowering for best results.

Pruning: You don’t need to prune Encore azaleas, but pruning after they are done blooming can help encourage a bushier growth and renew an older plant. You can use pruning to control size, but don't prune of more than 1/3 of the plant for best results.

Landscape Ideas

The Autumn Moonlight Encore Azalea adds pure white color to the southern landscape and beyond. Azaleas are excellent for borders and mass plantings. This evergreen shrub jazzes up gardens and mixed beds. At 4 to 5 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide at maturity this stunning azalea can even be used in foundation plantings. Try this flowering shrub in a container to add a little class to your entryway, porch, patio, or deck. For borders or low hedges plant about 3 feet apart on center. Otherwise, plant about 5 feet apart to give your plants space in-between.

Beautiful Azaelea

We looked everywhere for an Autumn Moonlight Azalea and couldn't find any, so we bought it from The Planting Tree. It came within a few days and it was perfect. It was NOT root bound and full of leaves. It made our other plants look terrible. I wish we had bought all of our plants from you. We will be back! Would highly recommend ThePlanting Tree! Happy :)

Azaleas came quickly and with blooms.

Beautiful azaleas

I purchased two Autumn Moonlight azaleas, about 2 weeks apart. I bought 1 and then decided to add another. Although both are 3 gallon size, the first plant came much larger, wider than it is tall, and has dark green leaves (planted already in the photo). The second plant is smaller, is more upright and has much lighter green leaves (in the foreground of the photo). I'm not convinced that they are the same azalea, although the containers were both labeled correctly. They were both packed excellently, healthy and are doing well in their new locations. I just hope they both turn out to be what I expected- time will tell!
