Of course, you will love the fragrant, trumpet-shaped yellow flowers that pop up all over your Carolina Yellow Jessamine, but the deep green, glossy leaves are not to be overlooked!
The Yellow Jasmine can quickly twine and vine to a mature length of 20 feet. Once established this vine can easily grow 5 feet a year. This vine thrives in full to part sun and is adaptable to any moist, well-drained soil. Deer and rabbit will not bother your Yellow Jasmine.
The Carolina Yellow Jessamine climbs mailboxes, walls, and trellises transforming them into a stunning, colorful vision! It is an affordable way to mask ugly fences. But there is so much more to this climbing vine! Try the Yellow Jasmine as a mounding ground cover. It looks amazing cascading down a slope, over rocks or a low wall. Plant the Yellow Jasmine in a container if you don't live in growing zones 7-10. You can even prune it back and move it inside when the weather cools so you can enjoy it year after year!
Add some sunshine to your landscape with the Carolina Yellow Jessamine.
The Yellow Jasmine thrives in full sun, but can tolerate a small amount of shade. It can grow in any soil that isn't overly saturated. Water deeply twice weekly for 1 to 2 months after planting. Once established, water as needed. Jasmine will flower best when the soil is kept slightly moist, but will tolerate dry conditions. Fertilize with a balanced, slow release fertilizer in early spring. If you grow your Yellow Jasmine in a container, fertilize at least one additional time per year in mid summer. If needed, prune after flowering. Deer and rabbit will not bother your Carolina Yellow Jessamine. This vine is also pest and disease resistant.
