How To Care

Be sure to choose the best location for your Gold Coast Juniper. As long as you avoid extreme temperatures you can plant your Juniper almost any time of the year.

Junipers thrive in full sun to part shade and adapt to any soil that is well drained. They do like a neutral to acidic soil so if you know you have an alkaline soil choose an acidic fertilizer (most fertilizers for evergreens are acidic). Junipers are great "street shrubs" as they tolerate pollution and salt well. After planting, adding a layer of 2 to 3 inches of mulch will help keep the soil moist and protect the lower branches from fungal issues. Do not allow the mulch to touch the trunk as this increases the chances of pests and disease. Water your Juniper deeply a couple times a week for the first month or two. After your plants are established, they only need watered during hot, dry spells. Junipers are drought tolerant after establishing and even more so after being in the ground about two years. Fertilize when planting and in early spring yearly with our slow release fertilizer.

Junipers are extremely hardy and versatile. When properly cared for, they rarely have issues with pests and disease. The Gold Coast Juniper is pest and disease resistant and deer tolerant.

Landscape Ideas

This tough, vivid shrub is ideal for slope and hill plantings. Try a simple, yet colorful low hedge to highlight your front yard. Plant in mass for loads of brilliant color and rich, feathery texture. Use as an accent plant for pops of year-round color. The Gold Coast Juniper's color, texture, and shape provide phenomenal contrast to just about any perennial or evergreen shrub. Bring an old mixed bed to life by adding a Gold Coast Juniper. Plant in full to part sun and well-draining soil for best results.

Quality plants arrived fresh and well packed

Fantastic! Experience. Would definitely order again. Plants are very healthy, packed in soil in a pot and secured with a plastic bag. Additional packing in the box prevented the plants from moving around.

Was delayed for some reason. Plant looked healthy & very well packed. Size was small, not as expected in a 3 gal pot.

Gold Coast and Dwarf Japanese Junipers

All plants came in excellent condition due to superior packaging ... heavy duty cardboard and professional strapping/bracing. Both varieties were larger than I expected and their balls were substantial implying success. Two packages were delayed (fault of FedEx) but this firm's customer care was the best I have dealt with at any plant source (including the one in CT supposedly noted for same). They tracked the packages, kept me informed, and offered replacements if the packages never came when FedEx said they would be here (which they were). PlantingTree is my new go-to source or all things flora.

Nice job, Planting Tree. Plants came quickly and in excellent shape. I was impressed with how they were packaged, thank you to the person who did it. Nice green and healthy. Only one drawback; I ordered the wrong juniper. However, I found a nice place for them. You just cannot send back beauty. Becky
