How To Care

The Miss Kim Lilac requires minimal care. This lilac enjoys part to full sun and is adaptable to variety of soils as long as they are well-drained. The Miss Kim is drought tolerant once established. Water deeply twice weekly for the first few months. Once established, water when the ground is dry. Fertilize with a slow release fertilizer in early spring for best results. There is no need to prune this lilac, but if you do, right after spring blooms fade is the time recommended. Lilacs are deer resistant.

Avoid diseases and pests by providing the ideal environment for your plant to thrive. Miss Kim lilacs are disease resistant. Lilacs are rarely affected by insects. However watch out for Scale and Borers. Scale is an insect seen on the underside of leaves, stems, and branches. They may look cottony or waxy and move slowly or not at all. These insects are parasitic so they can be a problem if they become abundant. They can be treated with neem oil. Be sure to thoroughly cover the entire plant and apply multiple doses. If you see holes in the stems of your plant you have Borers. These are generally hard to treat without pruning the plant back as they live inside the plant. However, natural pesticide, Bacillusthuringiensis can be an effective treatment.

Too early to review. Will

Too early to review. Will have to see if Bush makes planting. I’ve had a Miss Kim at previous home, so I know what they should turn out like. Hoping this one will be just as beautiful and with wonderful fragrance like my previous one.

She's Got Buds!

Great. Was potted in a reasonable amount of time. Packaged securely. Plant is healthy, leafed out & budded. Can't wait for it to open up with fragrant blossoms.

Miss Kim with brown curled leaves

Miss Kim came with dry, brown, curled leaves. I did not think much of this; thinking some nurturing/ watering would solve plus size was a good 3 gallon. However, browning and curling has worsened. I will prune the browning leaves and just wait and see how Miss Kim plays out. I really hope to see Miss Kim thrive.

Love it!

I was looking specifically for this bush to plant since I had one at my old house. The website made this easy—it came quickly and packed great. I planted immediately and it is doing very well. So much better than trying to search for one locally. I ordered a climbing vine the next day because this was so wonderful.
