Spring and fall are the best times to plant in most areas. However areas with mild summers or mild winters can plant at those times as well. Plant in containers anytime of the year. With the exception of zone 5. In this region these plants cannot be planted or kept outdoors in winter without some type of protection.

It can be used again in late summer to give your plant a boost. Plants in containers should be fertilized at least twice per year.
