How to Care
Grow the Royal Purple Smoke Tree (on standard) in full sun for the deepest purple color.
This tree is adaptable but prefers well-drained, acidic soil.
Newly planted smoke trees should be watered deeply about twice per week while they are establishing. After two or three months this tree is extremely drought tolerant. It is even recommended for xeriscaping.
Fertilize the Royal Purple Smoke Tree Standard in spring with a slow-release fertilizer.
This tree should be pruned after the plumes fade to avoid removing any flower buds. Simply trim any rogue branches to keep the form neat.
