How To Care

Planting Time: Any time of the year taking care to avoid temperature extremes, especially the height of summer.

Sun: Full sun for best blooming

Soil: Very adaptable, but fertile, well drained is ideal

Water: Deeply water when newly planted and once or twice weekly during establishment. Once established, only minimal watering is needed and generally only during extended periods of dry, hot weather.

Fertilization: A fertilizer for flowering shrubs like Rhododendrons will work great for Abelias. The best times to fertilize are early spring and/or early summer.

Pruning: Abelias do not generally require pruning, but if pruning is desired winter is best.

Merchandise was exactly what I wanted and came in a timely manner. Was well packaged but fed ex delivery showed boc must have been knocked around. Plants were fine with the exception of one small branch broken off because of rough handling by delivery personnel. Price was good also. Will definitely recommend this company.

Beautiful health shrub

We were very satisfied with the condition of the plant and planting instructions. We will consider PlantingTree for our future purchases.

Wait & See

This spring I've ordered over $1500 in plants for the beginning of a new landscape design. So far, orders have come from 5 different sites. Dirt was extremely dry and falling out of the pots. When removing the plants from the pots the dirt completely fell away leaving a mass of exposed roots. The shrubs were alive and have been planted so it's a wait and see on how well they will thrive.

Plants have wilted and dreams not look as healthy and hearty as I would have hoped.
