Everyone loves the crape myrtle. From its gorgeous shape to its multiple trunks to its long lasting colorful blooms this tree has all you could want in a stand out landscape tree. As many of you know these trees can often grow quite big even beyond the suggested mature size in the optimal southern climate. Today we will share with you some varieties that will fit in small yards and gardens. Some grow more like a tree and some more like a bush, but they are all less than 15 feet at maturity.

Black Diamond® Dwarf Crape Myrtles

Black Diamond Crape Myrtles are perfect for gardens and beds and urban yards with minimal space. The pretty ruffled flowers come in a variety of vivid colors and offer intense contrast to the deep burgundy-purple to black foliage. The long-lasting flowers bloom from late spring until frost. The mature size of these dwarf trees is 10 to 12 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide. They are recommended for growing zones 7 to 10. All Black Diamond crape myrtles are low maintenance and disease resistant.
