In almost every list of shade loving plants you will find plants that still require sun generally described by the term part shade. All of the plants on this particular list can thrive in a full shade garden. So for you guys that truly have a spot so shady very little will grow this is the list for you! You can plan out a mixed bed or shade garden, plant under a tree, or fill in the shadiest of landscapes!

Evergreen Shrubs

Gold Dust Aucuba

Zones: 7 to 10

Mature Height: 6-8 Feet
Mature Width: 5-6 Feet

With golden yellow spots on shiny green leaves this shade loving plant is quite unique. This heat lover gives an almost tropical feel and even works well in containers as a houseplant.

Green Mountain Boxwood

Zones: 5 to 9

Mature Height: 4-5 Feet
Mature Width: 2-3 Feet

This boxwood has a unique conical shape. In addition to tolerating heavy shade, the Green Mountain boxwood is pest, disease, and deer resistant.
