The Autumn Chiffon Encore Azalea is not your normal everyday azalea. It has all the great characteristics of an original azalea, but it has so much more to offer! With this shrub producing flowers for longer periods of time, it is a must have staple in every landscape design.

The Autumn Chiffon Encore Azalea flowers have a dark pink center that fades to a beautiful light pink, creating a gradient effect. During the flowering seasons, the trumpet shaped flowers grow in clusters at the end of each branch and blankets the entire shrub. This Encore azalea in an evergreen shrub, meaning that foliage is present all year around. No more naked shrubs! Small and compact, this shrub only grows to a height of 2-3ft.

From spring to summer you can enjoy pretty pink petals for the entire warm season. The Autumn Chiffon Encore Azalea is a compactl shrub that fills in those smaller spaces in your landscaping. This shrub is great to use as a foundation planting or included in a natural wooded area. In the spring and summer, it creates a beautiful array of blooming flowers and during the fall and winter the shrub is a beautiful backdrop to other flowering plants in your beds and gardens. Plant in a mixed bed or even as a lone specimen.

This azalea is fairly heat tolerant and requires little to no maintenance once established. It is recommended to prune after the blooming season and fertilize in the early spring to enjoy a fully blossomed shrub during the growing seasons. Encore azaleas are a great option for adding beauty and color to your landscape.

When planting your Azalea be sure you have the right location and conditions for your new plants to thrive.

Planting time: Spring and Fall are ideal times to plant Azaleas. However, if you avoid freezing and extremely hot temperatures you can plant any time of the year

Sun: Full or part sun

Soil: Be sure your soil is well-drained and acidic. If you have alkaline soil, be sure to amend your soil. To acidify your soil amend with compost, elemental sulfur, or use fertilizers specific for acid loving plants. Mulching with pine straw or pine bark will help over time as they begin to break down, but are not an immediate solution. To improve drainage in something like a heavy clay soil, add compost and be sure to loosen up the soil well before planting.

Fertilizer: Choose a fertilizer for acid loving plants. Fertilize in late winter or early spring to give the upcoming blooms a boost.

Pruning: You don’t need to prune azaleas, but pruning after they are done blooming can help encourage a bushier growth and renew an older plant.

Good

I can't wait to you get more of these. They worked out great in our yard. I'm glad I bought the larger ones because they bloomed about a week after we planted them.
